September 21, 10am-2pm
Join the Civic Center Community Benefit District and the Mechanics Institute for a low stakes, high fun chess tournament in UN Plaza on September 21, 10am-2pm. The USCF-rated, and non-rated, chess tournament is open for all youth, from preschool through 12th grade.
Also happening at the event, a simul (where a chess player plays multiple other players at one time); those who want to try their chess skills against Grandmaster Sam Shankland can do so! Sign ups for the simul will take place at the event, the tournament sign up can be found the Mechanics Institute site.
Sign up here. Free. Trophies for the top 5, medals for others. Check it time is by 9:45am; on-site registrations will fill up spots for players who haven’t checked in by 9:45 am.
