Various Dates, January-February
Welcome in the Year of the Rabbit with the Asian Art Museum! They note “The Lunar New Year begins on the first new moon of the first month of the lunar calendar and ends two weeks later with the full moon. The exact date of the Lunar New Year changes each year according to the lunar and solar calendars, ensuring that it can remain in January or February. The 15-day celebration begins on the evening before the start of the new lunar year.”
Events include art making on February 5 during Family Fun Day (free admission day), 11am-2:30pm; and a virtual lecture series for members entitled “Lunar New Year, Water Rabbit,” on January 11; among other events. See their site for events, storytelling, art making and more!
