June 26, 7:30pm
Among their online concerts, SFCM’s upcoming Fontainebleau 100th Anniversary Concert honors the centennial marker of the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau opening its doors to students on June 26th, 1921. Teachers then included Nadia Boulanger, then 34; who remained a popular instructor until her death at 91 in 1979.
“This concert includes pieces by seven composers who attended Fontainebleau during the last decade of Mlle. Boulanger’s teaching. Each composer is represented by approximately ten minutes of music; their piece or pieces are preceded by a brief video of testimony about Fontainebleau and Mlle. Boulanger by each composer;” according to SFCM.
A virtual concert, it’s free to stream. Learn more on SFCM’s site.
