The Asian Art Museum notes, this is the “first solo exhibition in San Francisco by Takashi Murakami,” a renowned artist with recognizable works that appear throughout popular culture and fashion. Takashi Murakami: Unfamiliar People — Swelling of Monsterized Human Ego features his well known “boldly colored, upbeat style and a pop sensibility that draws inspiration from anime and manga.”
